How we rate

Our reviews use a three part system, each given a relative weightage in contribution to the overall score.

The three parts are
  • Quality and Taste 75%
  • Value 15%
  • Ambience and others 10%
This is done to provide a more comprehensive breakdown of the eateries we visit and to help ensure that we judge fairly in relation to all components.

We use a rating scale of 1 to 10.
A informal benchmark of each point is shown below

1-Dogshit
2-Disgusting
3-Terrible
4-Bad
5-Mediocre
6-Decent
7-Good
8-Great
9-Incredible
10-HOLY SHIT

For ratings where we are sure of the quality etc, scores will usually fall on solid numbers.
When decimals are involved, it usually means some hesitance. I.e, a 6.5 will mean above average but not yet amongst the better crowds (basically on the line between decent and good) and an even more deviated 6.3 will mean somewhat above average but not yet there.

Take note that this is an informal system and the actual crux of our feelings towards the reviewed restaurant is within the review itself. Those will serve as better reference than the scoring as to whether the restaurants are worth a try.

However, do also note that the review scores are subjective and based on our personal opinions. Instead of scores, the recommendations section at the end of our reviews will give a better benchmark of whether or not you should be trying the particular eatery.
